Kongsberg Nsm. Raytheon-Kongsberg Naval Strike Missile NSM. The scope of the contract includes Naval Strike Missiles NSM and logistics equipment.
The contract is pending approval of the related offset contract. JSM is meant for long range strike against both land targets. Kongsberg is actively pitching its helicopter-launched variant of the Naval Strike Missile officially dubbed NSM-HL.
NSM has an operational range of 185 Km 100 nautical miles and a high subsonic speed.
Eirik Lie president of Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace AS said. JSM is meant for long range strike against both land targets. The NSM will replace the Harpoon missiles currently used on the F124 F125 and F126 type frigates. It was developed for the Royal Norwegian Navy as an anti-ship missile capable of being launched from Skjold class corvettes and Nansen class frigates as well as coastal defense batteries.
